Dr. Justin Langham serves as Director of Music at St. Philip Presbyterian in Houston, Texas, where he creates and plans music for weekly services, leads choral and instrumental ensembles, and coordinates the Music at St. Philip concert series, bringing a variety of musical performances annually that help support and enrich arts community in the church and the greater Houston area.
As a performer, Justin maintains an active freelance schedule in Houston, including as a member of the internationally renowned musical duo, Deux Voix (“two voices” in French). He is also an award-winning composer and arranger, with music commissioned and performed around the U.S. and in countries such as Italy, Japan, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
In addition to maintaining a private teaching studio and gig contracting business, Justin is active as a clinician, giving lectures and masterclasses for organizations like Texas Choral Directors Association (TCDA), American Guild of Organists (AGO), and various colleges and universities around the country. He also serves as Adjunct Professor of Music at Lone Star College,
Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Justin earned a double Bachelor of Music in trumpet performance and composition from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, followed by his Master of Music degree from the University of Houston in 2015. He then returned in 2018 to start my Doctor of Musical Arts degree, which he completed in May of 2022.
Aside from musical activities, Justin loves sports, traveling, and Mexican food. He currently lives in the Museum District with his lovely partner, pianist Andreea Muț, and their Great Pyrenees, Risa.
